Today, President Obama spoke at the Ft. Hood memorial service in Texas. The speech that he delivered is already being hailed as one of the best of his Presidency so far. His speech reaches out and consoles the family members of those killed and wounded, while presenting his role admirably as Commander in Chief.
It is really quite a remarkable speech.
“It may be hard to comprehend the twisted logic that led to this tragedy. But this much we do know: No faith justifies these murderous and craven acts. No just and loving God looks upon them with favor. For what he has done, we know that the killer will be met with justice, in this world and the next.”
President Obama takes the stage about 15 minutes into this video…

11|Nov|2009 1Watching this speech, I had goosebumps the whole time. Our President really knows to walk the fine line of consolation and condemnation. He makes the audience dig deeper. It’s not just about Fort Hood and it’s not just about religion, it goes beyond that – to what brings our generation together.
