Students in need of psychological services sometimes have to wait as long as 2 weeks before they are able to get an appointment if they chose not to see the on duty counselor. It’s an unbearably long time so the system is getting re-vamped, more CAPS buildings and counselors are on their way and now students are going to be able to use a special database that finds counselors that are within walking distance that accept their insurance. No more pesky maps and phone calls!
David Schwimmer rather, Ross Geller, is filming a movie on campus called Trust. Wander the campus enough and perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to become an extra.
The poker room at the Heidelberg is said to be increasing the job availability in Ann Arbor. And while people didn’t have enough funds to support the millage to increased education funding, apparently they do have enough money to support whatever charity happens to reserve the room next Wednesday night, their regular day. So many good causes, how could gambling be considered a vice?
Successful chair of a law firm in DC, Laurie Miller has her roots at UM. Her sorority sisters reminisce on what a hard worker she was, she even skipped out on posing for “really stupid pictures of horsing around the sorority house”. It’s clearly paid off as she’s had incredible opportunities working abroad for international courts and even under Gerald Ford.
Students at MSU made bombs that were powerful enough to kill someone and have been arrested. Another reason we’re glad we don’t go there…
Gay marriage was banned in Maine on Tuesday but now activists are upset with Obama.
No no no no. School spending is not solved. A decreased spending per student is not necessarily going to result in less pay to teachers, more likely it will result in cutting programs like music and art or special ed. Maybe they’ll give their teachers fewer benefits or fire teachers altogether and put kids in larger class rooms. They’ll cut class offerings and won’t keep up with new technology. Ultimately it’s the future of our state that’s losing out, our potential for us to recovery from this economic downturn needs future generations with strong foundations. Furthermore, decreasing the paychecks of our teachers would only contribute to our stagnant economy.
Dear Andrea Siklosi, who are you to talk? We aren’t spending other peoples money, taxes are everyones money. We are adult, tax paying citizens who reside in Ann Arbor and that gives us the right to support a millage that would improve the conditions of the community we are a part of. And, while it may have increased our monthly rent by a few dollars, those would have been dollars to give kids the resources they need so that they can have the same opportunities we were afforded when many of us were in public schools just a couple years ago.
Now your lip gloss is poppin’, your lip gloss is coo’ but you don’t have to worry about the boys chasing you after schoo’ because you’re testing your drinks for date rape using your spy-esque lip gloss dispenser strip tests. Coming soon to a college campus near you.
